Fiona won't eat the outside of anything - crusts, apple peel, potato jackets - nothing chewy or tough. The baker, who thinks it's a shame she won't eat his nice crusty rolls, sends along another little girl, Olga, who at first obligingly eats the things Fiona hates. But when she proceeds to swallow the outside of everything - bananas, tins, cereal packets - the results are alarming! The nicely anarchic black and white illustrations fit the short, zany text remarkably well, and needless to say, Fiona learns to eat the outsides as well as the insides of her food. Huge fun.
